Chris Cairns will stick your giant head onto his music video

Chris Cairns has managed to shoot a video with the most big-headed beatboxer in British hip-hop. No, I mean literally. Beardyman’s ginormous head was stuck onto some kid’s body.

‘Big Man’ could have just been a typical urban hip-hop video, but this is Chris Cairns we’re talking about here, so of course it’s anything but ordinary. Chris and post-prooduction prodigy Ross McDowell took the video one step further by creating an interactive Facebook app that lets you stick your own big head onto Beardyman.

So thanks to this Partizan and Bullion co-production, all of your I wish I could somehow be in that Beardyman video dreams have just come true.

Perhaps it’s all best summed up by YouTube commenter LeeToTheVIMusic:

“lol”

Apt description. Check out the Be a Big Man Facebook app to create your own, or watch the full length version above.

Kinga Burza is the next Spike Jonze, says Germany’s Glamour Magazine
Germany’s Glamour Magazine just ran a great little piece on Kinga Burza, calling her the next Spike Jonze. A great compliment, no doubt, and with all the cool stuff Kinga has been working on, it won’t be long before they start predicting who the next Kinga Burza will be.
If you’re not German-language-inclined, we’ve got a translation below too.
And speaking of Kinga, check out the Partizan Facebook page for a series of photos she took while exploring Fez recently, if you missed those earlier.
Parlez vous Anglais? Here you go.
‘Foundations’ by Kate Nash or Homecoming by the Teenagers — many music video that you’ve liked were created by director Kinga Burza. The 31 year-old Australian of Polish descent works with indie elites and big stars like Katy Perry alike. The vintage charm of her clips are praised by “Coolnes-bibles” like “i-D” and “Dazed and Confused”. She just wrapped on her first short lovestory “Candy”, too. We are pretty sure Kinga will we be big in 2012, and we predict her career will be like the cult director and Jackass inventor Spike Jonze.

Josephine de la Baume chases her brother through AB/CD/CD’s mountain of doors

When you’re chasing after someone — doesn’t matter why exactly, just stick with me for a moment on this — the last thing you want is to end up in some sort of long hallway of similar-looking mystery doors. Because you’d have to check each one and it would take forever, like playing hide-and-seek in some accounting office.

Now imagine doing that on a mountain of doors. Which is precisely what AB/CD/CD have done in their just-released video for Singtank, otherwise known as the brother-and-sister duo of Alexandre and Josephine de la Baume.

Josephine is in mid-pursuit of her brother, when she is confronted with this incredible Escher-esque mountain of doors, immaculately pieced together into a mind-bending maze. So what happens? Well, you obviously need to watch the video.

After you’ve done that, head over to our Facebook page, where you can see a few exclusive photos from the shoot.

Poker games are way more intense in Brazil, thanks to Niall Downing
Brazilians are really good at a bunch of things, like throwing nation-wide parties, playing football, samba, hanging out at the beach. Though when it comes to poker, stuff gets way more intense, as you can see in Niall Downing’s latest ad for Pokerstars.
One of their huge poker face-offs is like watching wolves on the hunt. Or snakes, for that matter. Check out Pokerstars ‘Brazil’ from Niall on our site.

The animated Django Django art-pop adventures of Daniel Brereton

With over 4,000 frames printed out and then hand-painted, Daniel Brereton’s stop-frame music video for Django Django’s single ‘Default’ looks something like the result of a semi-chromatic voyage through a photocopier. Or something.

Dan and Django Django drummer David MacLean spent a few days in a studio with a bit of paint, thousands of photocopies and several rolls of gaffer tape to pull the animation off, and as you can see it was all well worth it.

The video premiered at Nowness, and since then a whole bunch of people have been talking about it online over the last few days. Creative Review placed it in its ‘Great New Music Videos’ list, The Reel named it Pop Promo of the Week, and Huffington Post used it as an example of how the music video world is going strong, placing it first in their list of 10 videos they can’t stop watching.

So check out the video above, and look out for some behind the scene photos that will be going up on our Facebook page this week.

News of the Times, as imagined by Jean Jullien and Yann Le Bec
Jean Jullien and fellow illustrator Yann Le Bec have just started up a new illustrated blog called News of the Times, and well, I’ll just let Jean describe it himself:Basically, every day one of us illustrates an article we find on a news site.Hey, that’s as simple as a great concept needs to be. And it’s looking really great. Kind of like they’ve been re-imagining what the news should look like every day. The blog runs on Tumblr, so get your daily updates by following newsofthetimes.tumblr.com — and considering what they’ve posted so far, you won’t want to miss a thing.

Kinga Burza explores Fez, one snap at a time
Kinga Burza has been spending quite a bit of time over in Paris lately, surrounding herself with all-things-cool-and-Parisian and working on new stuff. But just before the holidays, she went out to Morocco for a weekend of snapshots while exploring Fez and Meknes.
Here’s what Kinga says:

With a cold and swiftly darkening Paris, I managed a quick getaway to the most exotic place I could think of that also wasn’t too far away. So I ventured out to Fez and Meknes, where I discovered that Morocco is full of character and a really happening, bustling, and colourful place.

Check out the snapshots on our Facebook page, courtesy of Kinga.

What happens when a dog hangs out on a copy machine?
There was this really nice dog in Partizan’s London office today, just kind of hanging out on the copy machine. So we scanned him in. Because why not? And now he’s on the internet.
